Can we please have a tag for Janine? According to the Baker Street Wiki, her name is Janine Hawkins, so I guess character: janine hawkins. Thank you!

Edit: I'm not sure that last name has actually been mentioned in the episodes, so maybe it should be just character: janine.

Ok, LJ is driving me nuts. I tried to make one for "janine (mary's maid of honour)", for easier understanding. But LJ just keeps deleting the second of the parentheses. We did it with Irene's maid and it worked fine so I've no idea what the hang up is.
WHY YOU KEEP DOING THIS TO PEOPLE, LJ?

Maybe it's just a temporary bug. I'll... come back to it.

Mea culpa! I posted a rec on the same fan comic as archea2 on the same day. I had been working on my post much of today and not looked for recent page updates after I had checked the spreadsheet this afternoon. Regardless, I will take my rec down if you want to to, as archea2 posted their's first.

Hi mods! There is a vid I would like to rec but I haven't found it posted anywhere other than YouTube. The vidder doesn't have an LJ or DW or Tumblr page, at least none that I can find by googling. I'm not sure when I'll be recc'ing next (most likely May, after the term has ended), but I suspect I'll want to post at least one piece of fanart inspired by the Sherlock Special and I wondered about a) a tag for the special episode and b) how to handle spoilers, as the costumes alone could be seen as a major spoiler.

We don't tag for specific episodes. After the special airs, then some content tags might apply, or we might add one for content or genre.

For spoilers re: costumes or speculative fic/meta, putting "(possible spoiler)" in the post subject line, and the same after the link, should alert readers. Rec comments could also be put behind an lj-cut if they're extensive.

Hello, mods. In months with fewer reccers participating (this month it's just the two of us), I would sort of like to fill the time/space by posting more than 12 recs over the month, but I also understand that you probably created the 12 rec limit to keep individual reccers from flooding the comm. What do you think? Could we possibly move the bar up a bit, to say 15 or so, when there is a smaller contingent recc'ing for the month?

It's an ongoing RP project that's basically an epistolary fic co-written by two authors but also includes cosplay elements. Could you remind me of this comm's spoiler policy? I might rec one or two works related to the Sherlock Special which aired yesterday over the course of the month. Should I put any spoilery descriptions/summary/comments etc. under an LJ cut for the whole month, or for some portion of the month?

Put anything overtly spoilery under a cut until after the 10th -- I'll make a general post to the comm, and if there are objections, maybe I'll extend that date. Honestly, though, I don't think our members/readers will still be avoiding spoilers after then.

Hi! Two things:

1. I noticed that there's no line in the template for vid recs to include the vidder's own summary of their video. It might be a useful thing to include. I've added it in my latest rec because it contains necessary background info about the video. I hope that's okay.

2. I wonder if it would be useful to add a tag for character: 'the other one' or Sherrinford (as he's usually named) or 'the other Holmes brother' because he crops up fairly frequently in fan works. He's never appeared in canon, though, so maybe he's best relegated to Original Character (that's the tag I used). Anyway just thought I'd suggest it!

Tbh, I'm not sure why there isn't space for the vidder's own summary. I'm trying to remember if we had a reason for that.
I might edit the template if I get around to it on the pc (pretty sure it would be a pain on my phone).

About the tag, I agree it would be useful, but I don't want to give the character a name, as that's not canon, and he might have a different one. But then if, say, I made one called "character: other holmes brother" I wonder how many reccers would check under "character: o..." to use it. Hmm.
Oh well, I'll add it. Might come in handy for all those James Bond crossovers...
