Reccer's comments: I'd like to end with this gorgeous portrait of Sherlock raising raven wings through the shadows. Inspired by a long-time favorite fic, Mad_Maudlin's A City on the Head of a Pin (previously recc'd on this comm back in 2011 here), this painting plays beautifully with light and a dramatic palette of blues and blacks. It's a striking image.

That's spectacular. I don't have much of a handle on fanart, so I'm especially grateful to be pointed toward such an accomplished example. I love the thoughtful, perhaps somewhat troubled expression on Sherlock's face.

Oh, I'm glad you liked this one -- it was your story and your lovely description of the raven's wings that made me think of it. Yes, I agree, to me he looks intent but also as if he's feeling alone with himself and not all that comfortable being so. An interesting expression.
