Reccer's comments: A worldwide plague has broken out and Mycroft has room in a safe facility for Sherlock & Mummy but not for John. This scenario lets random_nexus gives us what every fandom needs - an apocalypse AU filled with heartrending emotion. The angst is unavoidable because we know that Sherlock would never leave John's side and that John would do what's best no matter how dear the price. Great writing, strong emotion and an end to the world as we know it make this a must read.

I do have a fondness for a nice long story. My heart always gives a little flip flop when a story pops up with 10,000+ words!

Isn't it a great story? I have such a love for apocalypse AU's and this one is so satisfying.

No, neither of those. Dammit. I have a feeling it was comment fic on some thread and I *hate* when authors don't bother to then archive those pieces somewhere--either on their own journals or in any fanfiction archive.

Yeah - I found it thanks to irisbleufic; she remembered it was on her recs page. I just posted to sherlockbbc about it, and then maybe nudged authors of commentfic to also save the fic to their ljs. Also, that one is anonymous, and I don't think anyone has claimed authorship, which is a shame.

I'm glad that I'm hitting some good ones. Some of the stories that were on my rec list were rec'd last month by nathcoelho. But that just let me move right on down my list because there's so much good stuff out there!

Let me look around and see what I can find. I have to say that it's no hardship looking at pretty Mr. Law though!
