But all John can manage is, “Nng.”
Because this sudden touch is not reporting as pain.

Soon, he's navigating a sea of unfamiliar desires, his father's alcoholic disapproval, and the jagged edges of his new friend's extraordinary mind. Sometimes, he learns, love is soft and safe; sometimes, it's blood and teeth and fists. But then again, so is secondary school.

The best autistic!Sherlock fic I've seen. Heartbreaking and realistic family interaction. Note on pairings: listed as both gen and m/m, but no pairings are listed yet (SH has just reached the age for uni). I'm going to guess it will be S/V and/or S/J in the future, but please note that's 100% pure speculation, as he's met neither yet.

Summary: John Watson is a medical man, and a military man, practical and skeptical. He barely holds an agnostic approach to religious faith. He has not a superstitious bone in his body.
So when crows begin stalking him and Sherlock takes a case involving mysterious sigils branded into the flesh of murder victims, John doesn't panic. He saves that for when the bodies start talking back to him.
