Last weekend of the month!

You're welcome to leave recs in comments to this post. Any version of Sherlock Holmes is welcome, and any fan work as fic, art, vids, or podfic. Please feel free to recommend WIPs as well. We'd rather have individual recs than links to external rec lists, however. If you have any questions, please comment or PM one of the mods.

NOTE: We need reccers for October! Sorry I didn't notice we were short before now--I've been working day and night and then had to hop a plane. This is my first chance to post anything for days.

Please jump in and take a turn sharing your enthusiasm with us. We'd love to see new faces and different taste. To sign up, you only need to add your name to the comments here. You must be a member for us to open the comm to your posts, so please join when you volunteer if you haven't already. Thanks!

Title: Dreamscapes
Author: sorion
Pairing: Sherlock/John
Length: 10,738 (3 parts)
Rating: General for first two, explicit for third
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: No series summary available

Part 1 (Scrooged): Sherlock finishes his solitary quest after Reichenbach. He begins to think that John might be better off without him. It takes some interference to prove him wrong.
Part 2 (Secret Garden): John has accepted his fate. He has also accepted his dreams; they are a welcome respite, and the only time he still sees in colour.
Part 3 (Wings of Desire, Der Himmel über London): They have only begun scratching at the surface of a bond that has every chance to last a lifetime, and they’re beginning to discover it.

Reccer's comments: This is a great little series. It follows the development of Sherlock and John's relationship, starting while Sherlock is still away on his hiatus, and ending with their reunion. Each story has an emphasis on dreams and their connection with a certain film/story, which is evident from the titles.

Part 1: This one is pretty much a re-telling of A Christmas Carol, with Sherlock being visited by three people who try to convince him John is better off with him than without him.

Part 2: Some parallels with Secret Garden. John thinks his colourful dreams are the best part of his life post-Sherlock -- until Sherlock comes back, and he realises his dreams are nothing compared to reality.

Part 3: Parallels with Wings of Desire. Sherlock and John deal with the aftermath of his return, and find their relationship deepening as a result. This one is explicit.

Title: Hunger Pangs
Author: keelywolfe
Pairing: Martin Crieff/John Watson
Length: 3,694
Rating: Mature
Verse: Sherlock BBC

Author's summary: It'd been years since Martin had been that desperate, desperate enough to consider just what he would do to get a bit of money. Set after 'The Reichenbach Fall'.

Reccer's comments:   There are a lot of great Cabin Pressure/Sherlock crossovers out there that play on the physical resemblance between Martin and Sherlock, but this is my heartbreakingly favorite.  For those unfamiliar, Cabin Pressure is a radio series about a private air charter company, and the captain of the plane, Martin Crieff, is played by Benedict Cumberbatch.   He is willing to work for free as long as he’s captain, and earns his living money between flights by running a van delivery service.  But what happens when there is a lull in removals?  This story features absolutely beautiful writing, and the characterization for both Martin and John are perfect.  Don’t be surprised if you end up tearing up by the end.
