Fics I have enjoyed this week:

A Scandal at the Ministry by thequeergiraffe. Part of The Brave and the Cunning series. Crossover with the Harry Potter verse, but Harry and Co. do not appear. Both Sherlock and John are students at Hogwarts. Rated Mature. This installment is Sherlock/Irene with Sherlock&John epic friendship/pre-slash.

as i let you rewrite gravity by 1electricpirate. Part of the More Things Than Are Dreamt Of series. Another crossover with the Harry Potter verse in which Sherlock is a Muggle and John is a wizard. Sherlock is very excited to find out more about the wizarding world, with mixed consequences. John/Sherlock with mention of past John/Charlie Weasley. This installment is rated Explicit.

Rhyme by parachute_silks. Rated R. Sherlock/John and F/F pre-slash. Sophie Heaney is suspected of killing her mother and her mother's lover; John and Sherlock arrive at Oxford University to work out whether that's true. In the course of their investigation they can't help but notice some uncomfortable parallels between Sophie's relationship with her friend Amy and their own increasingly tension-filled friendship. *Feelings* ensue, which the two not-quite-couples attempt to deal with while simultaneously trying to catch a murderer. Written for a kinkmeme prompt.

Fantastic recs, as always. I second 'as i let you rewrite gravity' - the absolute best Harry Potter crossover I've come across.

If you liked Rhyme, I also strongly recommend Parallel (http://archiveofourown.org/works/205389/chapters/305209) by brbsoulnomming (Sherlock/John and OC/OC F/F, rated M), which was written in response to the same prompt. The OCs are really engaging, and the developing relationship between Sherlock and John (complete with some agonising sexual tension) is very nicely done.

For work related reasons, "Anthea" becomes a dedicated reader of John Watson's blog and eventually a fan of the man himself even though she still has trouble recognizing him face to face. This adorable story reveals "Anthea's" work life and provides a clever explanation behind her inability to recognize John.

I am massively biased (I was the beta for it) but I very much love the newly posted This Machine Called Man (http://archiveofourown.org/works/524552). Robot Sherlock AU, gen (preslash S/J), ~30k, complete but not fully posted to AO3.

London, 2081. John Watson, former army roboticist, has an expired licence and an illegal tri-wing screwdriver in his desk. Sherlock Holmes has fingerprints and a name, and in an office somewhere in Whitehall there are blueprints for the metal underneath his perfect, artificial skin.

by bradspyjamas This story is sweet and fluffy with just a bit of angst. Told in a series of 62 chapters in 221B format, this is the story of John and Sherlock awaiting the birth of their baby, and all the things that happen over the 9 months. If you like domestic fluff you will love this.
