As always, you're welcome this weekend to leave recs in comments to this post. Any version of Sherlock Holmes is welcome, and any fan work as fic, art, vids, or podfic. Please feel free to recommend WIPs as well. We'd rather have individual recs than links to external rec lists, however. If you have any questions, please comment or PM one of the mods.
We're still looking for reccers for December. Please sign up here if you're interested.

Date: 2012-11-24 06:15 pm (UTC)Because it’s written as a series of LJ comments, interspersed with reader comments, it can be challenging to follow sometimes, but it’s worth the effort. However, the author does plan to clean it up and post it as a proper story when he has the time, so you can also wait for the “official” version.

Pairing: John/Sherlock
Length: 94,444 words
Rating: Mature
Warnings: None
Verse: BBC Sherlock
Author's summary: John Watson was already fighting demons when he and Sherlock met. With Sherlock's suicide, it all comes flooding back, forcing Sherlock to intervene before he's solved the persistent riddles of Jim Moriarty and his game. Together they find that something darker lurks behind Moriarty, forcing Sherlock, John, and Irene Adler into an even deadlier game with a much more dangerous foe. Begins six months after the events of The Reichenbach Fall.
Reccer's comments: I LOVED this story and followed it while it was a WIP. It just finished last weekend and I’m sad and happy and can’t let it go. This makes my personal list for what defines a fanfic “classic.” That’s the kind of story it is for me. The plot is detailed, the emotional life exquisite, the action intense, and the romance hot and tender. (And if you are a John fan, this is your fic - you get all his permutations.) Read this and enjoy.
