Stance on RPF/RPS recs

Hey everyone!

Since this question was raised a few days ago we wanted to make an official post about our stance on RPF/RPS recs:

This comm is for reccing fan works based on the fictional characters created by ACD only, which means: no RPF or RPS as a genre!
It is ok if you have a fic where a real person has a cameo, and is interacting with other fictional characters. To that end we've added a "character: real person" tag to the list. This especially applies to stories which feature ACD as a character.

Thanks muchly! :) Totally agree with the policy (the comm shouldn't be for RPF, but a lot of Holmes pastiches feature historical characters, authorial 4th-wall breakage aside).

Agreed. ACD's canon itself featured historical real people, but wasn't *about* them.
