In At Longhall Drift, she confronts Holmes' cold, precise reason with the ambiguity of potentially supernatural elements, and the tension this creates is echoed in his changing relationship with Watson, and its gorgeous resolution. This reads like an old folklore story, mysterious strangers in disguise and strange bargains, and it leaves you a bit breathless once you're finished reading it.
