Reccer's comments: I love all of
tweedisgood's works in ACD canon; she writes beautifully, in a precise, detailed style that goes way beyond the mere pastiche, and her Holmes and Watson are splendid animals, constantly drawn to each other in ways they don't quite understand. In At Longhall Drift, she confronts Holmes' cold, precise reason with the ambiguity of potentially supernatural elements, and the tension this creates is echoed in his changing relationship with Watson, and its gorgeous resolution. This reads like an old folklore story, mysterious strangers in disguise and strange bargains, and it leaves you a bit breathless once you're finished reading it.
