Fic rec: The End of the Road
Oct. 29th, 2011 01:55 pmTitle: The End of the Road
Author:
theimprobable1
Pairing: Martin Crieff/John Watson, Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
Length: 11,413
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC, Crossover: Cabin Pressure
Author's summary: After Sherlock's death at the Reichenbach falls, John finds solace with an airline captain who bears an uncanny resemblance to the detective.
Reccer's comments: This Sherlock/Cabin Pressure crossover is astounding. The premise is ordinary enough; the Cabin Pressure kink meme is filled with crossover prompts exploiting the physical similarites between Sherlock Holmes and Martin Crieff (both played by Benedict Cumberbatch, for those unfamiliar with Cabin Pressure). TheImprobable1's telling is heartwrenching, both for John Watson and Captain Martin Crieff, but so very delicious in how badly it hurts, and ultimately, satisfying for everyone involved.
(There is an NC-17 sequel that is not a crossover: The End of the Day. It's Cabin Pressure only. But I recommend it as a relevant work. I can get away with that, right?)
You can also read on AO3.
