Reccer's comments: Taking a break from my regularly-scheduled spamming you with John/Lestrade recs, this was a kinkmeme fill from last winter, and it was (is) glorious. There's not much else to say about it, the summary is pretty much what you're getting, but the way the (sadly, anonymous) author weaves a series of flashbacks directly into the narrative is kind of brilliant. It's a comment fic, and some of the parts get nested oddly toward the end, but it should be six parts altogether (the last part is "6d").
