Great start!

I’ve closely followed your wonderful comm for years, and I’m thrilled you imported & are continuing here!

I’ve never had to move an entire comm, so I don’t know all that’s involved. I did notice some LJ references remain. I’m no DW or coding expert; just been on LJ/DW for ten years & a former proofreader.

On the DW profile page

“You can find more information on this as well as our rules here. The sign-up page can be found here.”
both heres link to the LJ version.

The “Please pay attention to the vid rec guidelines!”
the guidelines linked are the LJ page.

On the profile and the sticky page http://221b-recs.dreamwidth.org/499894.html the “posting links” code block shows <dw-user=“”> but that doesn’t work, more below.

DW User heads != LJ

DW has minimized the syntax for userheads to

<user name=sample site=domain>
no quotes are needed, and just the domain (without the .org or .com). Common ones are:
LJ
tumblr
ao3
IJ
and here on DW itself, site=domain isn’t required

You don't have to declare communities anymore: both DW & LJ automagically use the community user head if the name is a comm.

Neither <lj-user name=221b_recs> nor <dw-user name=221b_recs> work; the enclosed text just disappears from the post.

Summary

code = example

<user name=221b_recs> = [community profile] 221b_recs

<user name=221b_recs site=ao3> = [archiveofourown.org profile] 221b_recs

<user name=221b_recs site=lj> = [livejournal.com profile] 221b_recs

<user name=221b_recs site=ij> = [insanejournal.com profile] 221b_recs

<user name=221b_recs site=tumblr> = [tumblr.com profile] 221b_recs

<user name=221b_recs site=twitter> = [twitter.com profile] 221b_recs

all the supported domains are in FAQ 87:
a href="http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=87">

note that Facebook is not and never will be supported.

I'm glad that it's useful.

(I inadvertently created two separate drafts of this post before I actually posted it, so I know how challenging version control can be.)

Is it possible to add a tag for Eurus Holmes? Thanks!

Great job moving this over here, and thanks so much for letting me sign up! I'm having a blast. Need to request some new tags for some genderswaps and rare pairings in fics I've recced:

pairing: sherlock holmes/eurus holmes
pairing: mummy holmes/uncle rudy
character: fem!jim moriarty
character: fem!sebastian moran
pairing: fem!moriarty/fem!moran

Hello, I have a quick question about how you'd like to handle recs for the currently ongoing ACD Holmesfest. At the moment the fanworks being posted are anonymous, though on Oct. 31st there will be a reveals post. Would you like me to wait until the 31st to rec any of these works? Or would it be okay to rec them during the rest of this month while they are still anon and then just edit those recs on the 31st to attribute them to the right authors?

Alternatively, maybe you'd prefer that I not rec any fest works myself, but instead have an open recs post for the comm (I seem to remember this comm doing that during some previous fanwork exchanges). Whatever you think will work best, just let me know :)

I've just posted a rec 'Fic Rec: R'lyeh Is Not an Empty House'. Would it be possible to have a tag 'character: moran' for it, please?

(I think I can find 'fem!sebastian moran' and just 'sebastian', but not one explicitly for the male Moran.)

could December 2018 (and perhaps continuing into January 2019) be set to open recs? I wonder if it might help regrease the wheels to let folks rec as inspired by holiday exchanges, etc, as well as to welcome possible new participants who might want to dip a toe into the pool before jumping in. thanks!

ETA: with the current Tumblr debacle raising DW's profile & activity, there are also more/new folks with DW accounts who could be interested in the comm.
