Today I bring you two recs from the larger-than-you’d-think subgenre of humorous art featuring the rivalry between the Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes.

Title: Boxing Considerably Cleverer Than You
Artist [livejournal.com profile] redscharlach
Pairing: Gen
Length: n/a
Rating: PG for violence
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Artist's summary: And now, a small dose of fan art frivolity. Someone over at [livejournal.com profile] sherlockbbc expressed a wish to see "fisticuffs between the Holmes brothers" and this thing popped out of my brain. So please lean out of the nearest open window and witness the startling Sherlockian spectacle that occurs WHEN BROTHERS BUTT HEADS!
Reccer's comments: This stylish retro-esque poster, advertising a boxing match between the Holmes brothers, is clever enough that each new piece of the text I read had me giggling.

Title: Gentlemen Will Walk
Artist: viestelar
Pairing: Gen
Length: n/a
Rating: PG for violence
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Artist's summary: Gentlemen Will Walk... but never run. Mycroft hates running.
Okay, I just needed an excuse to draw MORE Sherlock and Mycroft. And the Mighty Umbrella of Doom.
Reccer's comments: This beautifully drawn comic features not only splendid likenesses, but also terrific characterization, as Sherlock and Mycroft find themselves in a spot of danger together. Also, please note the pattern of Mycroft’s tie. Hilarious, and adorable.

Those were both amazingly amazing! I'm constantly awed at the creative talent people have.

Great recs!

As much as I appreciate the recs: We have a "one rec per post"-rule. Please only rec one piece from now on (unless they are connected works by the same author/artist).
Thank you.

Yeah, I do see why you would rec those two pieces as "connected", it certainly makes sense in a way.

A themed rec post is a good idea! We (the mods) did discuss having some themed rec posts (or themed months or something) once. But then the idea got dropped again to see how things went with the normal reccing first. But I'll make sure to discuss it with them again. Maybe next month though, since I'm pretty busy atm...

No worries! and I think it wouldn't be that difficult to manage, we just need to clear some details...

And thanks ^^. I never modded anything before so I'm glad you think this is working out ok.

You just recced two of my favourite fanarts ever: the first never fails to put a stupidly big smile on my face, perfect cure against bad gloomy mondays, and the second one has enough BAMF!Mycroft to make me squee (yes, squee, what even) with joy! XD

The pattern of Mycroft's tie in the short b&w comic is actually a tie she wears in The Great Game... go check it out and pay close attention to it, it has tiny umbrellas on it, it's fantastic! XD

The costume details for Mycroft and Moriarty in TGG made me both laugh and feel stupidly happy quite a bit: if you pay attention to Moriarty's tie, it has little skulls on it (and it's still Westwood like the suit), skulls! It's now part of my headcanon that Mycroft and Moriarty secretely go shopping together for ridiculous ties XD

And I just realized I seriously mispelled something in my first comment: The pattern of Mycroft's tie in the short b&w comic is actually a tie she wears in The Great Game

Something HE wears, he was still a fine specimen of the male kind last time I checked, I have no idea why that 's' wriggled its way in there... *ahem*
