Title: The Midas Touch
Author: flawedamythyst
Pairing: Sherlock/John
Length: 32231 words
Rating: Explicit
Verse: BBC
Author's summary: John Watson has a medical condition that means everyone he sleeps with is instantly healed of all illness and injury. This causes complications when Sherlock breaks his arm, and even more complications when Sherlock falls in love with him.
Yes, this is a story where John has a literal magic healing cock. It's a lot less cracky than you're probably imagining.
Warning: Contains complex issues of sexual consent, although not between Sherlock and John.
Reccer's comments: This fic takes a cracky premise and treats it totally seriously, with excellent results. The psychological toll of John's condition, and the ways it affects (or doesn't affect) his relationship with Sherlock, are realistic and in-character, and the story deals thoughtfully with complex issues of consent and ethics, while also being really enjoyable to read. There's no shortage of humor and sweetness here either, and the story works on multiple levels. It's an impressive balancing act, done with skill and warmth.
