Reccer's comments: I ran across this gorgeous drawing of Sherlock just yesterday. It was originally posted about a year ago. The tags say it's a 'quick, random drawing', but holy cow it looks like hours of effort went into it. I'm partial to black and white drawings because of how contrast is utilized, and this is a good example of that. The use of lighting on Sherlock's face set against the rest of the picture is gorgeous. The nuanced shading makes it look so life-like.
I hope it's permissible to include a second one in the same post, because the same artist just recently drew a picture of John Watson using the same beautiful style, like a matching set. That one can be found here
