Fic Rec: Oubliette
Apr. 14th, 2015 09:42 pmTitle: Oubliette
Author:
cherrytide
Pairing: none
Length: approx. 2,200 words
Rating: teen
Warnings: none
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: After a traumatic incident, Sherlock becomes trapped in the darkest part of his Mind Palace. The only thing that can still reach him is the sound of John's voice.
Reccer's comments: There’s always something, isn’t there? Because the basic idea is of course brilliant but an extendable ladder would have been really helpful.
Such a tiny, tiny detail, easily overlooked in the grand scheme of things. Thankfully Sherlock has got John, his conductor of light.
This is a story of patience, both Sherlock’s and John’s, of friendship and of love. Beautiful, poignant and sad, but in a totally good way. The story had me in tears, but I ended reading it with a smile on my face and it stayed with me afterwards for a very long time.
