Title: Art in the blood is liable to take the strangest forms
Artist: sher-who-od
Pairing: Gen, Sherlock Holmes portrait
Rating: not rated (but I would say G)
Warnings: none
Verse: BBC Sherlock
Author's summary: the Doyle quote, same as the title
Reccer's comments: Well, the last fic recc'd for us was a story about colours, and that made me think of one of my favorite pieces of fanart: it's a gorgeous portrait of Sherlock done in crimson, with his hair, coat and body impressionistically created using patterns that imitate spattered blood. The impression is not gory, but instead oddly beautiful, and the red image plays against a textured white backdrop that lends added depth to the painting.
I find it hard to look away.
