Title: Snowcapped Mountain
Artist: tillieke (dA)
Characters: Sherlock, gen
Rating: Unrated, SFW
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: He wants to rise above us like a snowcapped mountain, but he's actually a volcano. Inspired by the above Steven Moffat quote. I don't usually draw interiors because I'm not very good at them, but I like challenging myself. Referenced from 2 screenshots, drawn in PS.
Reccer's comments: What can I say? Beautiful, beautiful art. Aside from being a flawlessly executed portrait, this piece elegantly presents a deeper look at Sherlock's inner emotions. John's empty armchair, painted in the warm colors evoking home and hearth and positioned inside Sherlock's chest, could represent his heart. Or is it a dormant source of destruction, just waiting to explode?
