Reccer's Comments: This piece does two things remarkably well: turns the hurt/comfort genre on its head, and captures the disarming awkwardness that is intimacy between John and Sherlock (I'm of the opinion that first-time sex between these two wouldn't be perfect and/or mind-blowing in the traditional sense; if you're in agreement, then this story delivers and then some). It's worth reading all of Resonant's work in this fandom, as the in-character intimacy is consistent across all stories. I've come across very few writers who handle the art of the first time so well.
