Title: BBC Sherlock's Wardrobe Details
Author: Sherlockology
Pairing: None
Length: Short

Verse: Sherlock BBC

Author's summary: My summary (the author doesn't provide one): Details on pieces from the wardrobe used for Sherlock BBC.

Reccer's comments: I'm astounded that this level of detail -- often including manufacturer, source, price, availability, and reason it was chosen -- is available for wardrobe pieces from BBC Sherlock. And Sherlockology prides itself on its accuracy; they get much of their information from the show's people. It appeals to my librarian soul. I'm also astounded that BBC Sherlock took someone like John Watson, who was having such money issues, and put him in a watch costing 3000 pounds!

OOOOOO!!!!

What a great site!

May I mention (since I don't know how to comment on the blog itself) that I have found a company called Baron Boutique who do movie replica clothing, including Sherlock's Belstaff coat, and Downey's corduroy frock coat from the first SH movie.
I own a Matrix Revolutions coat made by them, and the quality couldn't be better, and it fits like a glove. They will do any customization you'd like. I got an extended cuff placket on mine, a la Severus Snape's coat. Buttons all the way up my forearm! Lovely.
Anyway, if anyone is looking to own Sherlock's coat in cashmere (not the textured charcoal wool) for about a sixth of the designer price, go to baronboutique.com and look for the movie replica tab. Enjoy!

I wonder at what point posts like this are just background information on the show and not "meta."
There isn't much analysis or commentary involved.

Agreed. Unless someone were to talk about the whys regarding wardrobe choices and how it relates to characterization, this is not meta.

We should post guidelines defining meta, so that we're all on the same page. Will do shortly.

In US terms, Watson would def. be a Timex man. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Do they have Timex in the UK?

Perhaps Swiss Army brand. Practical, durable, no-nonsense, and reasonably priced. :)

I absolutely love this site and I've used it as a reference when talking about the show itself, and to check some details -- possible reasons behind Gatiss/Mycroft's ill fitting suit, for example. But it's still more a source for meta than meta itself, to me.

That watch would be ridiculous for John. What I liked about it, though, was the way it carried through visually the stripes and other geometric patterns (under softer knitwear) they put him in.

Someone collected and shared sources to buy replicas of the coat, and the pattern to make your own.
