I've been reading holmestice stories, a bit at a time. The first one that struck me was I have been one acquainted with the night (http://holmestice.livejournal.com/230271.html), author not revealed

It's an arresting, well-crafted look at Sherlock and addiction, from drugs to John. There's a brief bdsm passage that I sailed over, so I can't say how that fits into the behavioral picture, but the rest I solidly enjoyed.

One of my very favorite ACD established H/W series continues with this original casefic:

Summary: After the events of The Empty House, Holmes invites Watson to move back into 221 Baker Street. Watson does so, and brings along his two-year-old-daughter.

I just loved how Holmes finds his way to fit into the ready-made family, and Watson's reaction.

So often in H/W fics, it is posited that Watson is bisexual, but I thought this was a great, realistic, generous look at how a heterosexual Watson would handle finding out that Holmes is an 'invert'.

Summary: Mycroft Holmes considered himself to be the only person in Sherlock's life that knew him completely. He was spectacularly wrong.

I enjoyed so much seeing Holmes' childhod in this and how it helped shape him into the man he became. It's especially a good exploration of the relationship between the two Holmes brothers. And there are some wonderful passages written in the action style of the movie, seeing the action in telegraph style before it happens.

Is there anything in particular you're looking for? Because there are a few by the same author with a dynamic that (I think) is pretty interesting. But they're shortish; about 3k words each, and essentially pwp with hints of character study (but really mainly porn).

Intriguing Holmestice read featuring Irene and Mycroft in Tokyo post-Reichenbach. The author (as well as Irene and Mycroft) is intimately familiar with the Great American Songbook. Not something I'd normally read, but I certainly enjoyed it:
