Title: Everything Is Chess, first part of The Scotch Series.
(The second link takes you to the master post of the whole series, the first one straight to the first part of it.)
Author:
earlgreytea68
Pairing: Lestrade/Mycroft
Length: first part: 1,553 words, whole series: ~ 30, 453.
Rating: General.
Warnings: None.
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: (of the first part) In which Sherlock asks Mycroft for a favor.
Reccer's comments: Lestrade/Mycroft is my favourite pairing in this fandom, which is why I'd love to share with you some of my favourite stories about it and add to its part of this lovely community.
I debated, which fic I should rec first, but not for very long as I simply decided to go with favourites. The Scotch Series is by far my favourie one, partly because of an interesting plot. (It involves Lestrade figuring out a puzzle and Mycroft being manipulative.) Mostly though I love this story (and others by the same author), because it includes the best written Mycroft I have ever encountered in this fandom (and especially in this pairing). Obviously, it is my personal opinion and others might prefer the older Holmes brother written differently, this however is exactly how I see him and so I have to reccomend it to the others.
The characterisation in general is splendid in this series. The dialouges are catchy and the humour is witty. This fic is an amazing read and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
