Title: If Sherlock Was an Animated Show
Artist: cosmic-nerd-angel
Pairing: Gen, various characters
Length: 12 images
Rating: Unrated (contains partial nudity à la ASiB)
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: I took random screencaps from A Scandal in Belgravia and redrew them as cartoons.
Reccer's comments: Over 84,000 notes on tumblr can't be wrong! Just exactly what the summary says, the artist has drawn 12 scenes from ASiB in a style similar to a Disney animation (the old, hand-drawn kind). The result is completely charming and captures the essence of many iconic and key moments from the episode, including Irene choosing her battle armour and John sipping tea at the Palace. You might think that turning Sherlock into a cartoon would reduce and trivialize the drama, but by deconstructing the scenes to a few bold colours and shapes, it really brings the tension and emotions into focus. I don't know if it's too much to hope for the artist to continue the series with further episodes, but I would be one of the first in line to luxuriate in the results.
