Title: The Flat of Two Serial Killers
Author:
janecshannon
Pairing: Gen
Length: 1258
Rating: PG
Warnings: None applicable
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: [Contains spoilers for the story, highlight to see] Someone breaks in at 221b, looking for articles of value but what does he find? A head in the fridge, eyes in the microwave, blood splattered on the floor, maybe some intestines on the kitchen table with the leftovers from a recent meal right beside them and so on. The thief's scared out of his mind, thinking about serial killers but the moment he tries to leave the owners of the flat come home. And they are just as scary, unpredictable and insane as he had imagined them to be.
Reccer's comments: Sherlock and John's lives are admittedly pretty absurd, even with fan goggles. Waving aside the dangerous lifestyle they have chasing criminals, Sherlock's macabre experiments and John's blasé attitude to all the gore are enough to (at least) make most people laugh nervously before retreating quite quickly. And this is with people who have an inkling about how ridiculous they are. Now what happens when a person who has no idea about them happens to ~stumble upon~ their flat in all its glory? Well, you get this hilarious fic, for one. I think, for me, what clinched this fic was the very last line, as I could not stop giggling for a good long time afterward.

The microwave beeped a second time and he darted forward to push the button to open it because every time it made that noise it was giving him a sodding heart attack. He’d meant to open and close it quickly just to get it to stop making that bloody noise but when the door of the little appliance flew open sitting there... right in the middle of the little glass plate that all microwaves come with these days was a glass jar of eyes.
Actual.
Human.
Eyes.
