Reccer's comments: This is a stunning portrayal of a realization that is at once sudden and gradual. I love how Holmes' body repeatedly takes the lead in this, acting for him beyond his volition before his mind has a chance to catch up. The imagery here is striking and leaves you breathless. It allows you to completely assume Holmes' mindset because it perfectly reflects his heightened perceptual acuity. Gorgeous.
