You and Me and the Moon by trickybonmot

Pairing: John/Sherlock
Length: 47,192 words
Rating: Mature
Warnings: None given
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: Sherlock is bitten by a werewolf and has to find a way to cope with his new condition

Reccer's Comments: This is the first werewolf story I’d ever read. What hooked me immediately was following Sherlock’s stream-of-consciousness through his madness revealing his dangerous desire for John while warring with his need to keep him safe. John, of course, knows something is wrong. His disbelief, yet unwavering support and steely strength, offer the perfect counterpoint to Sherlock’s condition. The enjoyment here is watching their relationship grow despite these circumstances. An unusual case with government undertones, Harry offering romantic advice, an almost know-it all Mycroft, a creepy female scientist, and hot sex (yes!) are the many pleasures to be had in this fic. So settle down for a completely unrelated to Mother’s Day story and enjoy! (Disclosure: While I did have the opportunity to be a beta for some of the later chapters of this story, I was a follower and fan first. It was a privilege and fascinating to watch the writing process. Thank you trickybonmot!)

The Mourning Woman by M_Leigh
Length: 2278
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC

Author's Summary: "The last time Molly Hooper had a secret to keep, for somebody other than herself, she was fifteen years old." Molly takes care of business, after the fall. Sherlock/John-ish.

Reccer's Comments: A fabulous depiction of Molly's part in Sherlock's 'death'.  I don't think Molly should be a synonym for mouse and neither does the author.  The author wrote a companion piece The Bachelor Stripped Bare by His Shadow, Even that offers John's perspective and is also very good.  Molly's perspective in Mourning Woman is so unique and relatable that it edges out to be the better of the two, but just barely.

Excerpt:
She wasn’t allowed to miss him, not while John missed him, because she knew the way John was missing him wasn’t something she’d ever felt, probably wouldn’t ever feel. It was like somebody’d taken John and taken him out of himself and sent him back out in to the world to stumble around without being able to feel anything anymore. It was like he’d had a stroke and was trying to relearn everything he’d always done naturally, by instinct, without having to think about it.
