Title:Kindly Stopped for Me
Author: [livejournal.com profile] mistyzeo
Pairing: Gen
Length: approximately 1,100 words
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Verse: ACD canon
Author's summary: During his illness in Afghanistan, John Watson is treated by a doctor he doesn't recognize. Title from the Emily Dickinson poem "Because I Could Not Stop for Death."

Reccer's comments: I’m an absolute sucker for Emily Dickenson, and for stories that delve into our heroes’ lives outside of the usual canon. Add someone as madly talented as [livejournal.com profile] mistyzeo, and you have a haunting little jewel of a story.

Title: The Art Of Communication
Author: stillwaters01
Pairing: Gen
Length: 2,380 words
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC

Author's summary: Lestrade was used to getting odd, non sequitur texts from Sherlock. But when “John went out for milk” was followed by a terse “two hours ago,” Lestrade immediately understood three things: John was missing, Sherlock was quietly panicking, and this could all end very, very badly.

Reccer's comments: I love this for all the things that go unsaid between Lestrade, Sherlock and John. All the things they know without saying, the subtext they can hear that is unsaid and the things that they choose not to say because of the damage they could cause.

Lestrade, and most especially Sherlock, looking out for John in their own very different ways is fantastic too!
