Author's summary: Sherlock doesn't kiss him all at once. He takes John apart, piece by piece, until there's nothing left of him.

Reccer's comments: I'm reccing this, because while I (with many other people, I've observed) am starting to get slightly sick of post-Reichenbach angst and reunion, this is to me one of the loveliest, realistic, tone-and-character-voice-appropriate post-fall stories out there. John doesn't forgive easily in this fic, and that it takes him a while makes it all the more satisfying when Sherlock and John do finally start to rebuild what they had, step by step. There is a subduedness and edginess to Sherlock that still doesn't ring untrue to how we know him, and hints very lightly at some of the things that might have happened since we last saw him. The growing UST is just gorgeous and sensual, until it becomes almost hard to breathe reading this. John's fears are very present in this story, but never overpowering. There is an interesting exploration of Sherlock as a sexual being, with many people around John assuming that Sherlock must be into some pretty kinky stuff considering his interests; the actual process of uncovering the private side of Sherlock Holmes feels exciting and filled with that particular trepidation that characterises showing yourself and your inner thoughts to a partner. Basically, this is well worth a read, even if you've read 45645123456 post-Reichenbachs already.
