It is a very interesting crossover / AU with Supernatural - however it's not necessary to know that series in order to enjoy "Crossroads". In fact, I don't know Supernatural at all and I enjoyed it immensely! keep_counting has taken some of the mythology of that series and fitted it seamlessly into the Sherlock universe. There are demons and hellhounds and hunters of the supernatural. Most importantly there is trading of souls to resurrect dead loved ones. And every element fits perfectly with the Sherlock characters as we know them.

Each chapter of this series is devoted to one specific character to examine his part of the bigger story the whole series tells. As a reader you have to figure out small parts of the bigger picture one by one and re-evaluate all the clues after each chapter. It's really amazing how the different perspectives can give you a whole new image of what's actually going on. The series as a whole is pretty creepy and very engaging. You won't want to stop until you've reached the end! But what I especially loved is how keep_counting has managed to integrate parts from the Sherlock series (even only some bits of dialogue sometimes) and made them appear in a whole new light - and they still made perfect sense!
