Slight deviation from prompt in that this details the kids becoming friends, and doesn’t get much into “serious.”

Reccer's comments: I love AU fics, and I love kid fics, so this is right up my alley. Despite the primary pairing, Mycroft and Lestrade don't get quite as much time in the spotlight as Sherlock and John, whose friendship is as much a focus of these stories as the delicious simmer that barely qualifies as pre-slash.
