Author's summary: Sherlock goes to a bookstore and John follows.

Verse: Sherlock BBC, crossover with Black Books

Reccer's comments: I adore both Black Books and Sherlock, but I would not have in any way believed that the two could be successfully crossed over. And yet, somehow this author manages. (Helped by a sly reference to the fact that Martin Freeman plays a hospital doctor in the very first episode of Black Books.)

Sherlock has a family obligation to spend money at his cousin Bernard's bookstore, whether Bernard wishes to sell his books or not. John begins to realize that all the Holmes relations are mad, and they all seem to have live-in minders. John begins to question his own position in Sherlock's life.

Deliciously cracktastic, as anything involving Black Books would have to be. However, this is just the first story in a series that grows progressively less cracky and more real, while still delightfully mad. Sherlock is given a fascinating extended family, and some very touching, very Holmsian, complicated relationships.

Even if you aren't familiar with Black Books I believe you'll enjoy the story. After all, I first discovered the show through a Doctor Who crossover.
