It's February and time for a change of reccers.

I'd like to give many, many thanks to all our January contributors for some delightful fics, art and vids. I for one have thoroughly enjoyed them, and I think the comm's off to a flying start.

So thank-you [livejournal.com profile] lelek, [livejournal.com profile] themusecalliope, [livejournal.com profile] sc010f, [livejournal.com profile] tanpopo03 and [livejournal.com profile] unovis_lj.

This month it's the turn of [livejournal.com profile] falling_voices, [livejournal.com profile] mariska_lee, [livejournal.com profile] maypanic, [livejournal.com profile] petronia and myself ([livejournal.com profile] lady_carfax).

Title: Full of Grace
Author: [livejournal.com profile] katieforsythe
Pairing: Holmes/Watson
Length: ~19 000 words
Author's summary: Oscar Wilde's incarceration, a wedding celebration for Violet Smith, and a pair of dancing men.
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: SPOILERS for The Solitary Cyclist.
Verse: Books
Reccer's comments: The author once described this as "A fic that might be a sermon... sorry", and indeed it might be, but I never felt preached at. If pressed I think I would say that this is my favourite fic ever. It's one of those stories that I know made me grow as a person. The fic deals with the moral issues surrounding homosexuality and religion, and how they can wear away at even the closest relationships. The Oscar Wilde passages are thought-provoking, especially from a 21C perspective, and the conclusion never fails to make me tearful, no matter how many times I read it. [livejournal.com profile] katieforsythe is knowledgeable about the Holmes canon, but I think this fic should be accessible to anyone, regardless of their knowledge of the original stories. The issues surrounding religion and homophobia might strike a little too close to home for some people, but I think the hope that runs through the piece makes it worthwhile.
