Title: Finger on the Trigger
Author: [livejournal.com profile] toestastegood
Pairing: John/Sherlock
Length: 4832 words
Author's summary: The government's official file on John Watson is thinner than a fingernail. The unofficial file on their top assassin is the depth of your hand. (A/N: John is not really an assassin, so this is an AU. :( He is pretty bad-ass, though.)
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Violence
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Reccer's comments: John used to be an assassin...and Sherlock likes that. Yep. It's another BAMF!John story which takes that idea to the extreme. Such a fun What If to contemplate. If you are a fan of John being Bad-ass, do yourself a favor and give this story a try.

...and that's 12 recs. Almost a Baker St. dozen, eh?

Title: Rate of Change
Author: [livejournal.com profile] ristrettoette
Pairing: Sherlock/John
Rating: PG
Length: 2575 words
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary:In which there are broken violins, horology, and some mention of ancient code-breaking. Also, far too much philosophizing, and a second person narrator.
Reccer's comments:
Oh, I'm a sucker for relationships displaced to homely objects. This is a beautifully written story from Sherlock's POV, in which he takes things apart and puts them together, sometimes with longing. Don't take my word for it. This is a part that rings: )

Title: Other Things to Do After Buying a Cat (AO3); podfic by via_ostiense
Author: BlackEyedGirl
Pairing: Molly/Sally Donovan
Rating: Teen and up
Length: 2575 words
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: It starts because of Sherlock (most things seem to). It's up to them to make it come to more than that.
Reccer's comments:
There aren't many women in Sherlock with which to work, and I don't believe any of them talk to each other. When it's plausible, I'm partial to stories that rectify that error. This is a pleasing, believable fic that brings together two very different women through--in spite of--their shared irritant. As the author says:

This isn't a story. They don't need to rush. It doesn't need to be perfect. It just needs to be something they make happen themselves.

Title: The Rabbit Hops Over the Log
Author: Renata Lord ([livejournal.com profile] snowlight)
Characters: Sherlock, Mycroft; Gen
Rating: G
Length: about 620 words
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Reccer's comments:
Child Sherlock, competent, comforting older brother. Ties! Wee kiddie tie! And then I start to unravel. This is a wonderful scene between the young brothers, with Mycroft teaching Sherlock how to tie a tie using the figure of a rabbit, bringing it safely, snugly, home.
