Slow burn college AU in which the roles are somewhat reversed, with John being the expert and Sherlock needing his help. Mind the underage warning: the age gap is 12 years, although nothing 'happens' until after Sherlock turns 18.

This builds on the opening scene of the first movie, specifically on the moment when Holmes perceives the near-invisible glass needle filled with poison wielded by Blackwood and saves Watson from impaling himself on it. Images of the sinister glass thread are interwoven with Holmes drawing music from his violin, with tempo and timbre repeated in his physical relationship with Watson.
If you like Sherlock/music themed stories, or Ritchie fic, you should give this a read.
