Title: Stack Overflow
Author:
ayalesca
Pairing: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
Length: 3,129
Rating: Mature
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: Sherlock's hard drive doesn't have enough room for all of his data on John Watson; something has to give.
Reccer's comments: Stack Overflow is an extremely satisfying extended metaphor exploring how Sherlock commits John to memory, with glimpses of the data that’s deleted to make room. Along with the imagery of the physical computer components mentioned in the author’s summary, there’s also lyrical, gorgeous use of mathematical language. That, for example, Sherlock calculates probability functions for John’s anger is at once hilarious, absolutely in character, and beautiful. It made me fall in love with Sherlock’s mind all over again.
