Open Recs Post
Oct. 14th, 2012 12:30 amHey everyone. Here's the new open recs post for this weekend.
You're welcome to leave recs in comments to this post. You don't need to sign up or use our headers to rec here. Any version of Sherlock Holmes is welcome, and any fan work as fic, art, vids, or podfic. Please feel free to recommend WIPs as well. We'd rather have individual recs than links to external rec lists, however. If you have any questions, please comment or PM one of the mods.
We still have open spots for November, so please sign up if you'd like to be a reccer for a month.

Date: 2012-10-14 06:19 am (UTC)Contamination by LauraJV (jacquez). Rated M for graphic and disturbing imagery. Ca. 16,000 words. AU casefic very much in the same tone as the BBC series. Gen with pre-slash undertones. Note that Irene is not the same character as in the series (this was written pre-series 2).
Say For Me, Love by MirabileLectu. Rated M, ca. 13,000 words. Relationship!fic. Very enjoyable, angst-fraught pas de deux between John and Sherlock.
Song of the Dauntless Knight by antietamfalls. Rated Explicit, ca. 48,500 words. 14th century knights AU. John is a knight sworn to serve Lord Moriarty; Sherlock, the brother of rival Lord Holmes, is being held at Moriarty's keep and played as a pawn in the power struggle between the two Lords. Very well-researched, intricate story with a slow build and good balance between relationship and intrigue. Johnlock with subtle Lestrade/Molly and Harry/Clara.
The Case of the Uncommon Cold by fakinbrilliance. Rated Teen, ca. 16,500 words. Sickfic: John has the flu. Sherlock takes care of him, in his own way. Fluff and feels.
Can't Let You Steal My Heart by thisisforyou. Rated Mature, ca. 55,500 words. A series of cases serve as the backdrop for the developing relationship between Sherlock and John. Heavy angst in parts.
