Title: London Below
Author: Basingstoke
Pairing: gen
Length: 1,570
Author's summary: Prompt - the case of the underground.
Rating: PG
Warnings: none
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Reccer's comments: in which Sherlock does his part to maintain the social ecosystem of the urban dispossessed... Lovely repartee between Sherlock and John in this one, and a matter-of-factness that's very them. I always assumed Sherlock developed his network while living on the streets (or not far from it); can't imagine homeless youth working systematically for some posh git unless he'd somehow earned a level of trust. And, as Basingstoke notes in comments, "Sherlock doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who can maintain a habit and a job for twenty years. He seems more like the kind that puts all his money up his nose in a year and ends up living under a bridge."
