[identity profile] unovis.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] 221b_recs

Welcome to our regular Open Recs weekend.

You're invited to post in comments here any recs or requests for recs for fic, vids, art, or podfic. All versions of Sherlock Holmes are welcome.

The comm is also open today and tomorrow for anyone to make a rec in a separate post. Please use our headers and make sure you've read the rules if you're new to reccing here, especially our tagging and warning guidelines.

Note: Last week we were asked if recs could be made for authors/artists in general, rather than for individual works. This is fine if you want to drop a rec in comments here, but please, not in individual posts. Posted recs in this comm are for works, only.

Thanks, and please let us know if you have any questions in comments or PMs to the mods.

One entrancing WIP, which I hope will be continued, is kay_cricketed's A Lost Thimble (http://archiveofourown.org/works/359048). It is a Borrowers!AU, featuring Borrower!John and Human Bean!Sherlock. It is most emphatically not crack; there is a fair dose of the bittersweet that prevents it from becoming cloying. Solidly written, lovingly rendered characters.

Two chilling WIPs I am following are thesardine's Bird's Bone (http://archiveofourown.org/works/220176/chapters/331792) and augusbird's Renegades (http://archiveofourown.org/works/434843/chapters/738423).
Heed the warnings for both. Both are AUs. Bird's Bone is set sometime after the Pool and is centered on who and why Sherlock and John were kidnapped and tortured. Renegades is a post-Reichenbach AU, in which Sherlock decides to bring John along with him to take down Moriarty's organization.
