[identity profile] unovis.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] 221b_recs

Welcome to another open recs weekend.

You're invited to post in comments here any recs or requests for recs for fic, vids, art, or podfic. All versions of Sherlock Holmes are welcome.

The comm is also open today and tomorrow for anyone to make a rec in a separate post. Please use our headers and make sure you've read the rules if you're new to reccing here, especially our tagging and warning guidelines.

Please let us know if you have any questions in comments or PMs to the mods.

NB: I apologize for the lateness of this post. I didn't realize it was Saturday -- I'm babying a small, demanding, post-op dog who is limping around in a tiny boot this week and not posting much of anything.

But also: the poll conducted a few weeks ago was 95% in favor of continuing the open recs post and weekend. However, only a few people have posted or commented. Since there are so many other communities offering posts for rec comments now, we might discontinue ours if lack of participation continues. Thanks to everyone who has contributed!

The wonderful Molly/Sherlock series "The Sustain Stories" (http://archiveofourown.org/series/20310) has been recced before, but some may not realize that an epilogue (http://archiveofourown.org/works/404629/chapters/748333") has been posted to the third story, Sustain III, Obbligato. Not to be missed!

It's a WIP, but OMG, [livejournal.com profile] mazarin221b's Across the Sky (http://archiveofourown.org/works/438495) is making me shriek with glee. It's a TOP GUN AU, what is there not to love? No, don't look at me like that, go read, you'll get it. :)

The Fabric of Life by [livejournal.com profile] holyfant is complete! It's one of the most beautiful post-Reichenbach stories out there right now, and anyone who hasn't been following it should go and read it now.

It's up on both AO3 (http://archiveofourown.org/works/384577?view_full_work=true) and on holyfant's LJ under the fabric of life tag (http://holyfant.livejournal.com/tag/the%20fabric%20of%20life).

Not a rec, just a request not to close down the comm - I have been directed to some amazing stories from here, and would be really sorry if it went as I haven't found another comm where the recs suit me as well! Please keep up the excellent work!!

Just a note supporting open rec weekends, even if they are slow now.

I've noticed that a lot of the Sherlock comms are slower than usual. There were only 3 BBC episodes for new canon material and I think the fandom is trying to figure out how to hash new ideas out of so little BBC canon.

And the ACD recs have been getting fewer and far between for years.

I love the recs here because they tend to be high quality. I vote give it a little time and it'll probably pic up.

I agree with this. Also, it's finals and the start of summer hols, and I know a lot of people are afk. I really hope the open weekends continue!
