Title: A Map Of The Open Country Of John Watson's Heart & A Map Of The Fortified Country Of Sherlock Holmes's Heart and The Heart of the Country [accompanying fic]
Artist/Author:
flawedamythyst
Pairing: John/Sherlock (though it could be read as friendship)
Length: 1,400 words
Rating: G | PG
Warnings: none
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: none other than the elaborate title :)
Reccer's comments: This harmonic duet warmed my heart and so I decided it had to go here!
flawedamythyst's drawings are clever and charming studies of John's and Sherlock's hearts as landscapes, both spot-on and observant in their accuracy, and very funny. (Cities called "Jam" and "Coat", I will say no more!)
And to top off the precious artworks, she wrote a ficlet to go with them, which is equally enchanting. I can't think of any other way to describe its charm without saying, 'Go look/read! You won't regret it.' A special little something.

Excerpt:
The soldier travelled through the Forest Of Logic, changing the routes of some of the oldest paths there until they revealed whole new vistas, then he stopped on the edge of it to regard the vast, empty Desert Of Intelligence. Sherlock was certain he wouldn't risk venturing in there – it was a lonely, desolate place, after all. He was proved right when the soldier turned towards Knowledge Heath, marching briskly through to the edge of Music.
