Title: As You Are

Prompt: John wakes up in hospital dioriented, ill, out of it and delirious. But not immobile. Whether he feels like he's back in the war or something else, he's wandering the halls of the hospital, ducking and diving, sometimes panicked and throwing things.
Slowly he makes his way to the top. I want him to end up on the ledge of the roof or on a balcony, swaying dangerously, very close to going over.
And while in this delirious state, Sherlock appears and needs to somehow talk him down, convince John he's real and to trust him and listen to his voice.

Reccer's comments: This fic is written from Harry's POV, which gives the "John's been hurt and Sherlock is livid" scenario a very nice little twist. I love outside-POVs of relationships, and the author did a wonderful job with it. If I were Harry, I probably wouldn't exactly approve of my brother hanging out with Sherlock either. At least at first... ;)

Excerpt: What does surprise her is the scene of absolute chaos outside of John’s room. There are a plethora of nurses and their aides, a lump of security guards, at least two doctors and one plain-clothes detective (she’s become rather good at spotting them). About half of these so-called professionals are scurrying around with the kind of panic you only see when there’s a suspicion of mice or cockroaches; the other half are too busy eyeing Sherlock with blatant fear. They’re surrounding him like he’s some dangerous circus animal they want to put down but can’t get close enough to try.

And he looks, well. Deranged wouldn’t be entirely off the mark. Livid would fit in a pinch. Murderous is by far the most accurate. He looks like he’s ready to raze the place to the ground. Harry strides through the crowd and yells over the din, “Where the hell is my brother?”

Note: I've categorized it as "gen", but since Harry is out of the loop it could actually be John/Sherlock - she at least speculates...

I'm not actually on this month, but I hope no one minds more recs...
