Reccer's Comments:
This was the first brilliant vid I saw for the show, and it bowled me over -- though the way I read it may not be the most popular interpretation. I think it's safe to say that it deals with ideas of dependency and love, primarily for John Watson. I saw it as the substitution of one crutch for another, until I read raves about its depiction of salvation through love. It's a revelation for the viewer, no matter how you interpret it.
It's also a brilliant, and visually complementary, manipulation of the source. Lim has commented in several places about the color palette and motifs for Sherlock, and here specifically about making the vid: Notes: Dry (on DW).
