Fic Rec: All's Fair
Jul. 20th, 2015 08:14 pmTitle: All's Fair
Author:
gyzym
Pairing: Sherlock/John
Length: 3,000 words
Rating: R (for language)
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: "I declare leaf war," Sherlock says, turning a page. "Do I need to be clearer?"
Reccer's comments: This is a very old fic, but I continually come back to it whenever life gets to be either too overwhelming or too underwhelming. It always immediately lifts my spirits and makes me feel warm and happy. It's not really crack fic, but it made me laugh out loud at work just from *remembering* certain lines from it that I had read days before.
John comes home drunk after an unpleasant encounter with Harry, and from his ramblings Sherlock deduces one of his more nostalgic childhood memories. Sherlock then takes it upon himself to recreate this experience in his own fucked-up way, and ends up wooing John without even realising that's what he's doing. John's frustrated annoyance is so very funny, and Sherlock's response so adorably sweet. When the penny finally drops for John, I guarantee that the reader will come away with a wide grin on their face. Rating is really only for language.
