Reccer's comments: This is a beautifully written one-shot teeming with relationship and character development. It's a first time fic, and a John-dealing-with-Sherlock's-past fic, and a protective-older-brother-Mycroft fic, all rolled up with lovely domestic scenes and the quiet sort of in between moments that make up life. This fic gives Sherlock and John a mature relationship in a lot of ways - they both come into it with experience and baggage and grow from there, as opposed to the sense of utter newness that a lot of writers in this fandom go for. It's also just delightfully in character and a joy to read from start to finish.
