Reccer's comments: I’ll continue to lament the relative lack of Holmescest fics when compared to the ocean of Johnlock fics spanning the Sherlock fandom. Thank god for dependable authors like the excellent daasgrrl for providing those with Holmescestian needs with a safe harbour regularly replenished with excellent stuff.

This is her newest and the summary perfectly sums up the fic’s contents… for the first half. Then, in an excellent move that took my breath away a new player crops up. With this move all the reader’s assumptions and… for the soppy romantics like yours truly, hopes of a happy ending are razed to the ground, turning a story that was already brimming with angst into a veritable angst fest.

This story left me almost crying over all the misguided pride and achingly deep longing. In short, it accomplished everything one could want from this particular pairing. In just 3,600 words. Wow!
