February, short and sweet! Welcome to this month's reccers: amindamazed, andrea_deer, verdant_fire, and ficklepig. We're looking forward to your posts and possible valentines.


Goodbye and much appreciation to ntjnke, venusinthenight, and scfrankles for their entertaining and thoughtful recs for January. Thanks for kicking off the new year and keeping the community alive.


We have one spot left for February if anyone is interested. The signup list is also open now to anyone who'd like to make recs in March. The community is open to recs for old and new completed fic, vids, art, podfic, and meta, for any version of Sherlock Holmes. All are invited to share, though you must be a member of the comm to make posts. Author's summary: There are two constants in Joan's life: Sherlock and bees.
Reccer's comments: This gorgeous fic. A journey through Joan's life from a formative moment in her childhood to meeting Sherlock and continuing into the future with retirement on the horizon after a detour by way of a certain pivotal ACD!canon story. As her relationship with Sherlock develops and evolves, so does her connection with bees, and specifically the bees named for her. At the same time, as a commenter to the fic wrote, this is simultaneously all about bees and not about bees at all. There's joy and sorrow and anger and reconciliation within, and at the center, the Holmes & Watson bond. Surrounding them are the wonderful cast of characters introduced in the show: Alfredo, Ms Hudson (even a gleeful hint of Alfredo/Ms Hudson), Pam, Clyde... Summarizing it further would either flatten what's so lovely about it or simply result in me copying & pasting 15K words in this entry. Please read it. Please.

Reccer's comments: Young Sherlock and Mycroft have an intimate encounter with some slick 3D modeling software, in an ongoing series of explicit scenes. I'm not 100% sold on the likenesses and there's something unsettling about all of these images - perhaps the Xanaxed expressions on their faces or the odd places that Sherlock rests his weight (oh god not the kneecap!). But they're also weirdly hot. The artist took pains to get Mycroft's nose right, which I appreciate, and I like the perky human-scale genitalia. Subscribed!

Reccer's comments: Toward a personal goal of getting peevee's entire ouevre rec'ed on this comm, I present fem!Mycroft and a (perhaps?) underage Sherlock egging each other on in an extremely unseemly fashion. This is one of my go-to fics for a quick, uh, reread. Peevee does so much with so few words.
