Reccer's comments:
For my last rec of the month, I present a really moving tag to episode 2x20, “No Lack of Void.” The show gave us a glimpse of what Sherlock and Alistair’s friendship was, and how much it meant to Sherlock; language_escapes gives us a glimpse of what Joan and Alistair’s friendship might have been, and what it might have meant to Joan.

It’s a beautiful piece, filled with the sort of specific details one gets caught on when grieving. There’s also a lovely delicacy to the way Joan and Sherlock’s relationship is depicted, Joan pushing down her grief in the face of Sherlock’s, then Sherlock turning around and being supportive in turn.
