Title: The Knowledge Of Somewhere
Author: Unsettled
Pairing: SH/JW
Length: 2841
Rating: Teen
Warnings: Major Character Death (offscreen)
Verse: ACD Books
Author's summary: Why did Doyle start writing Sherlock Holmes stories again?

Reccer's comments: The author lists this as Ritchie-verse, but it's very non-specific and Doyle himself is a character, so I'm calling it ACD Books. Sherlock Holmes haunts Arthur Conan Doyle's dreams to beg him to right the grievous wrong he has caused by killing Holmes off. It's a strange and intensely moving little fic from several years ago that I think has been unjustly overlooked.

Title: Far from Sure
Author: Youaremyscience
Pairing: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
Length: 4,854
Rating: Teen
Warnings: None
Verse: BBC Sherlock
Author's summary: There are some questions even Sherlock Holmes can't answer.

Reccer's comments: I have realized there's a story I love, and that story is how Sherlock and John overcome their fears and social conditioning to at last recognize the true nature of their relationship. "Far from Sure" is a wonderful example of that story. There's a brief conversation between John and Sherlock near the end of the story that brings me nearly to tears -- I find both men so poignant in that moment. Yet they find their courage: Sherlock to ask and John to act.

And the penultimate paragraph is one of the most charming ever. This is a delicate and moving story that always makes me smile.
