A fantastic piece of fan art and the fic that it inspired!

Title: Yes, you are Sherlock.
Artist: ineffableboyfriends
Pairing: Gen
Rating: U
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC, crossover with Doctor Who (virtually spoiler free, sweetie!)

Author's summary: Yes, you are Sherlock.

Reccer's comments: More poignant if you've seen "Asylum of the Daleks" but that's not necessary to make this heart wrenching. In all the best ways!

Fic Rec

Title: Not a Machine
Author: ladykarasu
Pairing: Gen
Length: 1,471 words
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC, crossover with Doctor Who (also virtually spoiler-free)

Author's summary: It started with the invasion. That sounded like a bad sci-fi opener, true, but it made the statement no less accurate.

Sherlock has a tendency to wander, fall, or stride into dangerous situations. Conveniently, John has always gotten there in time to mitigate the results, before. This time, he's a little too late. Good thing he's such a stubborn man.

Life gets a little more interesting once he gets Sherlock back, though.

Reccer's comments: Sherlock has to come to terms with how his life has changed and the exactly what John Watson is prepared to do for his friend. John, in the meantime, is just completely in BAMF mode, whether emotionally or in the more heavily-armed and seriously unhappy sense!

(yes, I admit to a serious weakness for bamf!John. There, I said it!)

Title: The Sleep of the Just
Author: 221b_hound
Pairing: Gen
Length: 2,206 words
Rating: PG-13 for canon level swearing
Warnings: None
Verse: Sherlock BBC

Author's summary: This story was written for this prompt on the kinkmeme:

Sherlock and John get comfortable on the coach or some other place. They’re not a couple but their too tired to care how it looks. They get comfy and cuddle as they drift off to sleep. Things I’d love to read about but don't have to be in it:

The Yard busts in on them by accident.
A certain landlady puts a blanket on them.
Sherlock finds out he can't sleep without John.

Reccer's comments: Two very bruised and exhausted partners-in-solving-crime stagger up some stairs, collapse on their settee and don't make it any further. Which is where the cute breaks out! But doesn't sicken!

This has a deftly drawn fight, fantastic good humoured bickering between the boys and Lestrade and Sally not being able to resist taking photos which...well, you'll have to read to find out!

Title: Skinny Guys Fight Till They're Burger
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lindentreeisle
Pairing: Gen
Length: 4000 words
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: none
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: It's not a case, there's no puzzle, but it's adrenaline and intelligence and another man trying honestly to hurt you, and for as much as three glorious minutes at a time your mind is running with the throttle open and you are not bored.
Reccer's comments: ACD canon holds that Holmes was a boxer, and this story brings that forward into the modern BBC version. The author does an absolutely glorious job of writing detailed, breath-taking action sequences from a very Sherlockian POV. And Sherlock's interactions with John at the end made me smile.
