roane
Pairing: John/OFC, John/Sherlock

Author's summary: defence mechanism: (psychiatry) an unconscious process that tries to reduce the anxiety associated with instinctive desires.
Reccer's comments: I’m amazed no one has recommended roane here yet! This is the first work I read by roane and is still a favorite of mine. It’s a series of three stories Displacement, Sublimation, and Denial. Although initially there is a pairing with John and someone else, it’s really not, and this is why I enjoyed it. *grin* The series is a steamy, first-time look at the John/Sherlock dynamic told from both their POVs. The reader watches John as he struggles with his feelings and desires for Sherlock and the confusion this brings. There is a scene with a blue scarf...guh. Go read. Then read the rest of her stories! (If the show’s writers decided to give John a significant other [please don’t] as a way to cope with his grief, I’d vote for roane’s Maggie. I know no one could replace Sherlock, but I do enjoy watching John wrestle with his emotions, especially over Sherlock.)

Technology note: Swissmarg - thanks for being so understanding. Does everyone really write all this code everytime they post? Isn't there an easier way? I'm so inept.
